Liam is still a year and a half away from kindergarten, but already I’m thinking ahead to how we’ll fit it all in. Already there are play dates, preschool, swim lessons and a variety of other commitments throughout our week. Liam has shown huge interest in several sports, like soccer, baseball and karate. And the musician in me wants him to try his hand at piano lessons. I often get stuck between wanting my child to be able to experience all of these things he’s interested in with the reality that there’s just not enough hours in the day to do it all.
Since we live in the suburbs, drive time is another thing I have to consider. Not everything is offered near us, so we often have to drive 20-40 minutes to get to one of these activities. I’m used to the driving, especially since I was driving even further when we lived in Nashville. But now that we have kids, I’m always looking for activities that are just a little closer to home.
That’s why I’m SO excited about Goldfish Swim School’s announcement last week that they’re opening up a THIRD central Ohio location, this time in Lewis Center! Apparently I’m not the only one wanting things a little closer to home. They’re building this location in response to members asking for something in this area. Both Goldfish Swim School’s Westerville and Dublin locations are great facilities. This new location, though, will save us at least 10 minutes of drive time. It will open in 2018, but work has already begun. The owners, Lisa Armitage and Lizzie Cowgill, broke ground on it earlier this month.
The location will be near the US 23/Orange Road intersection (about a 1/2 mile east of US 23 on the south side of Orange Road just before the railroad tracks, near the Chiller North). You can find construction updates on the Lewis Center Facebook page, on the website and their monthly Bubble e-newsletter.
Here’s what the building will look like once it’s built:
The nice thing is that you can go ahead an pre-register now to save your spot. You can sign up at either the Dublin or Westerville locations or online. If you pre-register, you’ll get priority scheduling when choosing your day and time for swim lessons. And if you’re already enrolled at one of the other locations, your annual registration fee and makeup lessons will transfer over.
So are you as excited about this as I am? Will we see you there?
