Spent the day at the ballfield with this crew and Spent the day at the ballfield with this crew and honestly I don’t think I’d have it any other way. Lots of hugs and snuggles from all four kids make me feel so blessed to be their mom.

Happy Mother’s Day!
Pretty sure this has been the fastest 12 weeks eve Pretty sure this has been the fastest 12 weeks ever. So thankful he had enough sick time banked up to take this amount of time off (which has been the longest he’s been home with any of the kids), but also I have no idea how I’m going to handle the chaos on shift days. Just count on us being late to everything for the foreseeable future.
I got out for some much needed self care this week I got out for some much needed self care this week at @avnailspa.laneave! I rarely get my nails done, so this was such a luxury for me. I decided on a basic manicure and I love how they turned out. Next time I might go for a pedicure too.

If you’re looking for a great spot to get a mani/pedi or a fun girls outing, head out to The Shops at Lane Ave for some shopping, lunch, and then get your nails done at @avnailspa.laneave while you sip on a drink from their full bar.

Are you team neutral or team bright colors when it comes to your nails?

Need an easy breakfast idea? Try this high protein Need an easy breakfast idea? Try this high protein breakfast casserole! We’re well into baseball season and having one of these in the fridge has been so helpful for those early morning drives on tournament days. I use this simple base recipe and then switch up the meat and veggies every week. Slice it up to eat by itself, or you can have it as a sandwich on a bagel or toast, or chopped up in a tortilla for an easy breakfast burrito option.

Base recipe:
12 eggs, beaten
1 c cottage cheese
1 cup milk
8oz shredded cheese (any kind)
16oz meat, cooked and diced (I used sliced deli ham in this video, but you can use bacon, sausage, chicken, etc)
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
Onion and garlic powder, to taste

Optional:
Hashbrown patties or tater tots (brown before adding), roasted potatoes, spinach, diced bell peppers, cherry tomatoes, sautéed mushrooms, diced zucchini….really you can get as creative as you want

Preheat oven to 350°. Combine all ingredients and pour into a greased 9x13 baking dish. Bake for 45-60 minutes, uncovered, until the middle is set and the edges are nice and brown. Cool for 10 minutes before cutting.

If you’ve been around for a while, then you know If you’ve been around for a while, then you know that I absolutely love babywearing. #ad It’s my favorite way to bond with baby (for both moms and dads!) and did you know that babywearing counts as tummy time too?! @wildbird gifted me their Aerial carrier and this might be one of the most comfortable and easiest to put on carriers I’ve owned over the last 11 years as a parent. Here are some of my thoughts:

• This carrier comes in 2 different sizes, a S-XL and a L-4XL. This is not only amazing for size inclusivity, but it also ensures you get a better fit. For reference, I typically wear an XL and decided to size up for this carrier. I didn’t have to worry about whether the carrier would fit on my postpartum body and I have plenty of room to resize the straps. I was concerned that sizing up would make the carrier feel too bulky, but it doesn’t at all.

• Love that the waist belt wraps around the back for extra support (watch the full video so you can see what I mean) and that the should straps crisscross on the back and buckle on the sides. This makes it extremely easy to put on and tighten myself and distributes the baby’s weight better.

• The weight limit for this carrier is 7-45 pounds. Wildbird includes a manual that has all the tips you need to ensure you’re babywearing safely.

• This is their rose finch color (such a pretty light pink!) but it comes in lots of different fabric choices. The fabric is incredibly soft too!

I’ve linked this carrier and a few other of my favorite versions for you on my LTK!

All you need are some salt and vinegar chips and your favorite charcuterie meats, cheeses and accompaniments. I went with some prosciutto, Gruyère and Gouda cheeses, and some fig jam. Lots of great finds for Mother’s Day in Target’s Bullseye’s Playground this week! Perfect for shopping on a budget or if your want to have the kids pick out something for mom. I’m definitely thinking about going back for those stacked pots and maybe that floating light for the bathtub. What do you want for Mother’s Day?

Caleb’s first swim lessons | live local

My child isn’t ready for swim lessons. He barely sits still for me – there’s no way he’ll sit through a swim class and listen to someone else. Actually, I find it hard to believe that he’ll even stay in the pool for the whole 30 minutes. Someone is going to end up having to chase him around the pool deck and I’m sure they’re going to ask us to come back when he’s older. Yep. No thanks.

All these thoughts? Those are mine. Every bit of anxiety I’ve had about starting Caleb in swim lessons and a big part of why we waited too long for him to start going. He’s my bold and fearless little guy who runs at full speed whenever possible. He loves the water, so teaching him those important water safety skills is something we’ve been talking about for a long time, but I was dreading the actual task of signing him up. Because I was sure it would be a disaster.

With Liam in kindergarten this year, it felt like an appropriate time to give it a try. With only one kid to manage (for the moment, at least), I felt more confident that we could handle the schedule, getting dressed and going in and out of the pool. I called over to Goldfish Swim School to figure out what our options were and discovered that they had a class for toddlers 24-35 months old that didn’t require adult participation. I loved the idea that I wouldn’t have to get in the pool myself. What I wasn’t sure about was whether he would stay in the pool and wait his turn or dive headfirst into the water every time his teacher’s back was turned.

I know I say this a lot, but Goldfish Swim School is so worth the cost and the drive time.

Caleb’s transition into swim lessons has gone way better than I ever could imagined. It hasn’t been without tears, of course, but it didn’t take him long to get attached to his teacher. By the second lesson, he’d picked up on the routine. He patiently waits until it’s his turn to swim and every time I can sense he has the urge to climb out of the pool, his teacher instinctively redirects his attention to something else.

We’re officially one month into Caleb’s swim lessons and I’m so glad we decided to sign him up. I think we’re well on our way to have another confident, skilled swimmer in the house.

How old were your kids when they started swim lessons?
