I can’t believe Caleb is ONE! I feel like I blinked and my baby doesn’t look like much of a baby anymore. Liam’s first birthday party was fairly last minute and low-key. I wanted to make Caleb’s a little more special and it turned out perfectly! Since Caleb’s birthday is so close to Easter, the “Some bunny is one” was an easy theme to choose.

Peapod Play Cafe in Columbus ended up being an awesome venue choice. Chien is a dream to work with and she did a ton of work to help us set up and get everything ready. There were plenty of things for the kids to do and lots of space for them to run around and play. Even Caleb got in on the action.
I picked up this adorable bunny romper from one of my favorite small shops, Henry and Claire.
I also found this cake stand and I just had to have it for Caleb’s smash cake.
Stacy from Get Baked by Stacy made cupcakes topped with garden veggies. Aren’t those radishes adorable?
Sticking with the bunny theme, we also had lots of fresh fruit and veggies (real ones this time) to snack on. These berry baskets were perfect!
I wasn’t originally going to have photos of Caleb on display since I never took any “official” monthly milestone photos of him. But I came across a company called Parabo Press and liked the idea of using some of their square prints. I get photos printed for our home and for my photography clients often and I was really impressed with the quality of these prints. Your first set of 25 4″ square prints are actually free (before shipping). Woo! And then it’s just $5 for each additional set or if you want to upgrade to the 5.5″ squares. If you’re interested in checking out Parabo Press, you can use the code “QVDYRI” to get $10 off your first order.
The photos also went perfectly with the macrame backdrop I whipped up for the party.
Caleb was having so much fun at the party that by the time we were all ready for cake, he was ready for a nap. But what’s a first birthday party without a meltdown or two?
Once we all started singing happy birthday to him, however, he was a happy kiddo again. I’m pretty sure he loved being the center of attention….and the cake!
Liam snuck a little bit of the frosting too.
Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate Caleb’s first birthday with us! It was so much fun!
